26th February 2015, Brussels. After 24 months, the LAMPRE project is going to its conclusion. The final project review meeting with the Project Officer, Florence Beroud, the Project Coordinator and all partners will take place at the Research Executive Agency of the European Commission.
25th of February 2015, Brussels. The International Final Dissemination Conference of LAMPRE "Improved Landslide Mapping and Modelling for Preparedness and Mitigation and for Post-Event Recovery and Reconstruction" will be organised at the Geological Survey of Belgium (GSB), in the Grand Auditorium room, at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences.
19-22 January 2015, San José. A dissemination and Training workshop on Earth Observation based technologies and their application in the management of natural hazards will engage at Universidad de Costa Rica a wide range of potential users of LAMPRE products, including authorities, institutions and commissions, responsible for the natural risks in the Central and South American region, as well as researchers and geologists who are experts in the data management in the context of natural disasters.
4 December 2014, Bruxelles - Representatives of FP7-Space projects (PREFER, PHAROS, LAMPRE, FLOODIS, SENSUM, IncREO, RASOR, APhoRISM, FAST) related to the Copernicus Emergency Management Service together with representatives of the European Commission services potentially interested in these services met in Brussels at the Research Executive Agency (REA). The purpose of the Emergency Projects workshop was to identify and/or develop cooperation opportunities between players of the FP7 projects, in view to support the sustainability of the services.
The 'Into Space’ brochure has just been published and is now available on the EU bookshop website. It includes the projects co-financed by the European Commission and managed by the Research Executive Agency (REA) under the 6th call for proposals of the 7th Framework Programme for Space Research in the domains of Copernicus – related Applications and Data, Space Technologies, Space Science and Data Exploitation, Space Weather and Space Situational Awareness.
30 October 2014, Genoa. Fausto Guzzetti (CNR-IRPI) talked about "European satellite data and technology to help detect, map and monitor landslides", presenting the results of the two FP7-Space projects LAMPRE and DORIS at the European Space Expo.
15-19 September 2014, Torino, Italy – Lampre latest advancements were presented by different project partners at the IAEG XII Engineering Geology International Congress.
6-7-8 October 2014, Genova, Italy - The second Exploitation workshop of LAMPRE engaged in Genoa, project partners and members of the Stakeholder and User Group to discuss the progress of the project from the perspective of strategic exploitation and sustainabilty of the project outcomes.
July 2014 - The scientific article "Rapid mapping of event landslides: the 3 December 2013 Montescaglioso landslide (Italy)" by A. Manconi et al " was published in July edition of NHESS. The manuscript deals with a recent event occurred in southern Italy, the Montescaglioso landslide.
26-27 June, Vilnius, Lithuania - The meeting on exploitation of LAMPRE EO-based products and service organised by GMX in Lithuania saw project partners CNR, KCL, ALTA, BOOZ&Co, GMX and UP discussing to advance the business plan for LAMPRE products and services, leveraging on the project outcomes and taking into account the Copernicus Emergency Management Service context and target markets.
11-13 June 2014, Prague, Czech Republic - LAMPRE will take part at the European Space Solutions Conference. This 3-day conference will involve a wide audience of users and developers of space-based solutions to discuss about the potential for using space technologies from the Galileo/EGNOS (navigation) and Copernicus (Earth observation) programmes.
19 May 2014 – Jerusalem, Israel - The LAMPRE Project Coordinator, Fausto Guzzetti, was invited by the Geological Survey of Israel (GSI) to present Lampre, its objectives and latest work developments.
27 March 2014 - Florence, Italy – Alessandro Mondini (CNR-IRPI) gave an oral presentation about LAMPRE "Earth Observation methods for rapid mapping of event landslides" applied in the LAMPRE project at an audience of 30 researchers at University of Florence.
12-13 March 2014, Bruxelles – The WP8 coordination meeting reviewed the challenges related to establishing (i) the business case for LAMPRE, (ii) establishing the links with other Copernicus services, and (iii) assessing cross border clustering opportunities, in view of taking practical actions to structure WP8 overall framework to ensure consistency of approach for respectively Task 8.1, Task 8.2 and Task 8.3.
13 March 2014 - 14 March 2014, Brussels, Belgium - Copernicus Big Data Workshop focused on data availability for Copernicus users (public authorities, downstream industry, researchers, etc.), as well as on technical solutions to ensure the uptake of Copernicus data and information.
February 2014, Bari, Italy - Oral presentation about the communication approach of LAMPRE provided at the SPACE4YOU Conference, promoted by Apulia Region and NEREUS (Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies).

The GEO-X and 2014 Ministerial Summit had one major outcome, which is Ministers – through a declaration – to decide the continuation of GEO after 2015 and give a mandate to define the “Second Implementation Plan 2025”. The Ministers are also expected to review the progress against the GEOSS Strategic Targets and to confirm their commitment to complete the current 2005-2015 Implementation Plan.
9-13 December 2013, San Francisco, USA. LAMPRE Partners (CNR-IRPI) presenting scientific advancements at several sessions at the American Geophysical Union fall meeting.
September 2013, Madrid, Spain - Oral presentation of "Multi-frequency PSI ground deformation measurements" in Session 10: Radar remote sensing for the detection, monitoring and modelling of ground instabilities at 15th Annual Conference of the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences by CNR-IRPI.
16 January 2014, Brussels, Belgium - During the Geo Week several meetings and side events will take place. In particular, an event entitled 'Copernicus Today and Tomorrow', will be organised on the 16th of January from 14.30–16.30. It will present the status and recent developments of each of the six Copernicus services and will provide a future perspective of the Programme, focusing, in particular, on the envisaged new satellite capabilities. In addition, European Commission's recently adopted Delegated Act on Data Policy and Information Services will also be presented.
21 November 2013, Bruxelles, Belgium - Fausto Guzzetti (CNR-IRPI) gave a presentation on “Remote Sensing for Detection, Mapping & Monitoring of Landslides & Ground Deformations” at the international workshop organised by the Research Executive Agency (REA).
04-06 November, El Portalet, Spain. IRPI, IGME and ALTAMIRA visited El Portalet, the Lampre Spanish site, to install an Automatic Inclinometer System as well as for redesigning and updating the network of measurement points (both SAR and GPS).
9-14 October 2013, Padova, Italy - Landslide hazard and disaster reduction Italy/Taiwan workshop, organized by IRPI in Padua and Dolomites. Alessandro Mondini (CNR-IRPI) gave a talk on event-landslide mapping with different data and techniques presenting a test case of the LAMPRE project in Pogliaschina catchment (Italy).
9-11 October 2013, Certosa di Pontignano, Siena, Italy - Fausto Guzzetti (CNR-IRPI) presented LAMPRE during the 9th TOPO-EUROPE Workshop with a presentation entitled "Landslides, Earthquakes, Active Deformations".
The FP7 DORIS project presents its final result to NEREUS, the Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies. The DORIS collaborative project was financed with € 3.4 million by the EU, and was aimed at stimulating the development of downstream GMES (now Copernicus) services. The project started on 1 October 2010 and will end on 30 September 2013.The event will take place on 26 September 2013, at the Basilicata Region Brussels Antenna office, in Avenue des Arts 19 AD Brussels, Belgium.
June 2013 – The article "Bayesian framework for mapping and classifying shallow landslides exploiting remote sensing and topographic data", by Alessandro C. Mondini, Ivan Marchesini, Mauro Rossi, Kang-Tsung Chang, Guido Pasquariello and Fausto Guzzetti was published in June edition of Geomorphology. Available online here.
10-11 June 2013, Brussels, Belgium - LAMPRE partners talked at the Supersites Coordination Workshop organised by the DG Research and Innovation of the European Commission in Brussels.
20 June 2013, Umbria, Italy – LAMPRE and DORIS goals and activities presented to the Regional Civil Protection Functional Centre (Centro Funzionale) of the Umbria Region and reported by Telegiornale Umbria. LAMPRE scientists illustrated the innovative mapping techniques and the expected contribution to the three landslides of Ivancich, Assisi and Collazzone in Umbria. See the short video.
20 June 2013, Umbria, Italy - LAMPRE goals and strategy presented to the Regional Civil Protection Functional Centre (Centro Funzionale) of the Umbria Region. LAMPRE scientists illustrate the innovative mapping techniques and the expected results to regional civil protection experts, planners and professionals, in Foligno.
The European Commission's central platform for disaster response, the Emergency Response Centre (ERC), was inaugurated in May 2013 in Brussels on the occasion of the Civil Protection Forum, which aims to address the EU's increasing role in disaster management.
10-12 July 2013 - Barcelona, Spain - Scheduled the next LAMPRE meeting to follow-up partner's activities after the first four months.
7-12 April 2013, Vienna, Austria - LAMPRE partners attended the European Geosciences Union Conference presenting preliminary activities of the LAMPRE project.
15-16 April 2013, Barcelona, Spain - Altamira Information presented LAMPRE at the 7th Geo European Projects Workshop in the Private Sector Engagement Session.
12-18 May 2013, Chengdu, China - Alessandro Mondini (CNR-IRPI) gave a talk on the paper "Bayesian exploitation of satellite data and DEMs for event induced landslide mapping", at the International Symposium in Commemoration of the 5th Anniversary of the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake.
19-23 May 2013, Genève, Switzerland – Altamira attended the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction and presented LAMPRE during a meeting on the Global Platform IGNITE stage (Marketplace area).
10-12 March 2013 - Rome, Italy - The LAMPRE kick off meeting will be hold at Dipartimento della Protezione Civile (DPC), one of the project partners, involving the LAMPRE Consortium to start the project activities and define a detailed plan for the first year. The Project Officer of the Research Executive Agency, Florence Béroud will attend the KOM.
